Something that the bible talks about that I love is light. Throughout the bible, there are references to God being light and illuminating the lives of his followers lives. It makes me think of the first bible verse I learned, "Your word is a lamp onto my feet and a light onto my path" (Psalm 119:105). This verse explains how God is a lamp and how he directs us with his light. I love how this is a great reminder that I have somebody leading me. Along with God being light, God gives us to the light. In Isaiah 42:6, Isaiah 49:6, Psalm 76:4, Proverbs 13:9, Matthew 5:14-16, Luke 8:16, Luke 11:33-36, Luke 16:8, John 12:36, Acts 13:47, Ephesians 5:13-14, Ephesians 5: 8-10, 1 Thessalonians 5:5, and 1 John 2: 5-9. I think that is all the verses that shows God promising or giving his people light. I think Matthew 5:14-16 clearly explains how we are given the light to shed light to the world.
Going off of illuminating the world, personally I have found it hard to be a light in college. This is surprising though because I am going to a Christian college. You would think it would be easy to be a light here. But no, it is not. My friend, Tiffy explained this to me in a really cool way. She explained as it is easy being the light in a dark room because you can easily shine. The light is needed and it is crucial that you are the brightest you can be. However, if you are already in a lit room, there is not much of a need to be a light. There is already light so you can get into the mentality of not feeling needed. But Tiffy, the smart lady she is, reminded me that if you can shine bright in that lit room, imagine how bright you would be in a dark room.

GO out there and be a light, my sweet girl!
